Dónal O'Connor & Paddy Glackin | Carolan's Receipt for Drinking / An Rógaire Dubh | Rannafast

A real pleasure to share the stage with the legendary fiddle player Paddy Glackin for this set of tunes, performed live in Rann na Feirste, County Donegal, on 16 October 2026. We begin with Carolan’s Receipt for Drinking, composed by the great Irish harper Turlough O’Carolan (1670–1738), before moving into the traditional jig An Rógaire Dubh (The Black Rogue). The performance was part of a special concert in An Áislann celebrating 100 years of Coláiste Bhríde in Rann na Feirste, marking a century since the Irish-language college moved from Ó Méith, County Louth, to the Donegal Gaeltacht in 1926. A wonderful occasion celebrating the music, language and cultural heritage of Rann na Feirste. Musicians: Dónal O’Connor – Fiddle Paddy Glackin – Fiddle Tunes: 1. Carolan’s Receipt for Drinking (Turlough O’Carolan) 2. An Rógaire Dubh / The Black Rogue (Traditional) Recorded live: An Áislann, Rann na Feirste, Co.
