The Fear Within
In which Ralph tries logic, the littluns vote for nightmares, and democracy starts circling the drain 😬
Ralph calls a meeting. That’s never a good sign.
Chapter 5 is where things get tense. Ralph tries to restore order—rules, priorities, basic “let’s not fall apart as a society” stuff. But the littluns are deep in fear mode, convinced the beast is real… and possibly watching them right now 👀
Piggy brings logic. Simon brings insight. Jack brings… volume.
And just like that, the meeting spirals. The conch loses power. The idea of rules starts slipping. Democracy doesn’t collapse all at once—it just kind of… fades out.
Not ideal.
In this video, we break down:
• Why this meeting matters (it’s a turning point)
• Fear vs. logic—and why fear wins
• Simon’s quiet but important take on the beast
• The moment order really starts to fall apart
For teachers and students staying one day ahead of the class, this is where civilization officially starts wobbling.
