Two detectives from a crimes-against-children unit pull a county water worker off a job site. He says he has a boring life. He says they have the wrong guy. He says someone keeps mixing him up with a felon who shares his name. Then Detective Blake Burge sits down across from him. This is the full interrogation of Christopher Thompson — from the arrest at work, through the holding-room small talk, to the moment the detective says what a child described, and the four words that end the interview. Thompson pleaded guilty in federal court in March 2024 to producing child sexual abuse material. In June 2024 he was sentenced to 60 years in federal prison.
