Firaq Gorakhpuri was one the foremost Urdu poet of 20th century and his poetry is appreciated by many people in Indian sub continent . He was an English Literature professor at Allahabad university from 1930 to 1958 and was very popular in Mushairas all over India. He is hailed by many critics as the leading Gazal composer of 20th century who created a new voice by writing on various subjects highlighting the beauty of women as well as nature , exploring the rich ancient Indian culture and the varied themes and images . Hindola or Swing or Gehwara or Jhula as it is called in India is in which all children play and so he has attempted to trace the History of India by way of highlighting the childhood of its great men of Art , literature and Politics and trying to connect them for having lived the same childhood in the Indian soil.
