Reloading Brass, Step 5 - Mandrel Neck Expanding

Following on from Step 4 where we sized the case body, set the shoulders, and squeezed the neck, in this step we open the neck back up again to the desired diameter using a MANDREL rather than the expanding button on the stem on the sizing die. Most mandrels are 1-2 thou under the size of the calibre. Some companies sell a variety of mandrels so you can chose the exact size you would like, and thus alter your “neck tension”. Here I introduce the set from APW and also demonstrate expanding a case neck with a set from L E Wilson.
