How to Edit Videos with ChatGPT in Premiere Pro (Full Tutorial)

I got ChatGPT to edit my videos directly inside Adobe Premiere Pro, and in this video, I'm showing you exactly how I did it. No expensive AI editing plugins, no paid prompts, and no AI editing courses. I'll walk you through how I connected ChatGPT and Codex to Premiere Pro using MCP (Model Context Protocol) and how I've been using AI to speed up my video editing workflow. I'll show you two real examples: using ChatGPT to find and edit 10 short-form clips from a podcast and using Codex to assemble a rough cut of a YouTube vlog. We'll go through exporting transcripts, creating AI editing prompts, connecting everything to Premiere Pro, and reviewing the results. I'll also share what worked, what didn't, and where AI still struggles with things like multi-camera editing, captions, and sound design. As a creative director and filmmaker, I'm not trying to replace the creative process with AI. I'm trying to spend less time going through hours of raw footage and more time actually creating, working on other projects, and spending time with the people I love. Whether you're a filmmaker, video editor, YouTuber, or content creator, I hope this tutorial helps you build a workflow that works for you.
