Beginner Friendly Wire Wrapping Tutorial for Dangle Earrings

In this beginner friendly wire wrapping tutorial I use a combination of wire weaving and wire wrapping. I had a bad craft day. Wire bent while compressing weave, my stone cracked at the end, and I seriously considered deleting this whole wire wrapping tutorial. In the end, I kept it because I dealt with a lot of things going wrong and I solved those problems and had a nice looking finished pair of dangle earrings. I know a lot of beginning wire wrappers struggle with how to fix things when errors like mine happen, and people will be able to learn from my mistakes. I do plan to release a shorter version of this wire wrapping tutorial in the future; something that an experienced wire wrapper can easily follow without all the explanations I have included for the newbies. This tutorial is a great resource for new wire wrappers. I go in depth on my techniques and do my best to explain the way I wire wrap. If you have questions, please leave them down below and I will do my best to answer them. Teaching isn't my strong point, but I hope to improve with practice! These stones came from the Gem and Mineral show in Tuscon, AZ, and I'm not sure where to buy them elsewhere yet, but I will update this video with a source if I locate one. You could use any top, front drilled stone that is about 1.75 inches long, and half an inch wide for this tutorial. UPDATE: Since doing more of these earrings, I have discovered that going down one size in wire to 22g will make it less likely to break a stone while wrapping. They are harder to weave on because they are more flimsy, but just straighten them out often and be patient. Compress your weave more often because they cant stand up to the pressure of the compression as well as the 20g can.
