ABOUT THIS HYMN This is an original composition — the text is newly written, incorporating several phrases from the traditional Requiem Mass (the Roman Catholic funeral liturgy), including "Requiem aeternam dona ei, Domine", "In paradisum deducant te angeli", and "Lux aeterna luceat ei".
