Nepal-Tibet Langtang Lirung Glacier Collapse: First look 30 August 2026

First look at the August 2026 Nepal-Tibet glacier collapse in Landsat and Sentinel-2 satellite multispectral imagery. The glacier is located on the northern flank of Langtang Lirung Mountain in Nepal. I use ProRaster Essential to render the available scenes to reveal the scale of the collapse. Post-collapse, we can also see two glacial lakes forming, with the possibility of more hidden beneath cloud.
