Mid Air - Ease Out (FULL 12" Single)

Ease Out (Instrumental) [8:01] I proudly present the holiest of the holy grails of boogie and funk from the '80s: Mid Air's "Ease Out" Full Scope Records was a small R&B/Funk/Soul label from Chicago, and Mid Air was one of those bands, which brings us one of the most slamming tracks ever coming from the 80's Boogie Era. "Ease Out" brings out the electronic space funk with synths galore, as well as lyrics to accompany the dance track, especially in the middle with "Ease out - shake ya body down", "Let them dance", and more! Brian Allis arranged and wrote the track, along with Jamel and Marcus Schisholm, Leroy and Robert Martin were the producers, and Pete Diorio and Mike Potash were the engineers of the track. Some speculate that Lillo Thomas was the vocals of the track as well. This track was also frequently played on Chicago Radio stations, especially when Farley Jackmaster Funk plays it on WBMX. Mid Air anticipated that this was going to be a dance track, so there were three different Full Scope Records pressings of the 12" single: One with the Full Scope Records logo (the one shown in the video) with the original vocal and instrumental, one with just green text (also with vocal and instrumental), and one with purple text with a remix and a 10-minute instrumental remixed by Mike Macharello. To say that this single is sought after by collectors would be an understatement; each of those pressings is extremely rare and barely shows up online. And when they do, they command outrageous prices! I found my copy while shopping at ‪@siplesrecords‬ as it was its anniversary sale. I was talking about "Ease Out" when the owner Brett and I were chatting about what rare records we are searching for. I then asked him what other records he has got up his sleeve, and so he showed me a box of 12" singles he has yet to go through. I then flipped, flipped, and flipped, and then as soon as I saw the green label with the Full Scope Records, I was shocked and started yelling "OH MY GOD THIS IS THE ONE! I FOUND IT!!!" among other expletives, and Brett was surprised as well. We both pull out the record to find it was near mint, and he gives it a play on the turntable, as I was pacing around hoping that I could afford it. We agreed on a price of $350 and it became the most expensive record he has ever sold that year.
