This video presents the Chinese translation of Chapter 20 of the book, Acts of the Apostles, rewritten and presented simply enough even for 10-year-olds. This chapter chronicles the beginning of Paul’s second missionary journey, specifically highlighting his split with Barnabas over Mark's previous desertion and his subsequent partnership with Silas. During these travels, Paul recruits Timothy, a young man whose godly upbringing and consistent character made him an ideal candidate for gospel ministry. The narrative emphasizes Paul’s deep pastoral concern for new converts, as he worked tirelessly to strengthen their faith and protect them from legalistic or worldly influences. A central theme is the exaltation of the cross, which Paul viewed as the essential foundation for salvation and the primary focus of all effective Christian teaching. By presenting Christ’s sacrifice as the ultimate demonstration of God's love, the apostles were able to transform hearts across diverse regions like Galatia. Ultimately, the author argues that the success of the ministry depends on hiding self-interest and keeping the message of the crucified Savior at the forefront of all labor. The video will cover: A Disagreement and a New Team: The story starts with two friends, Paul and Barnabas, who want to go on a trip to visit people they had taught about God. But they had a disagreement because Barnabas wanted to bring a helper named Mark, and Paul didn't think Mark was ready because he had given up and gone home on a previous trip. So, they decided to split up: Barnabas took Mark, and Paul chose a new partner named Silas. Meeting Timothy: As Paul and Silas traveled, they met a young man named Timothy. Timothy was a great kid who had known the Scriptures since he was very little, thanks to his mother and grandmother who taught him to be pure and good. A Young Helper: Paul saw that Timothy was faithful and true, so he chose him to join their team. Even though Timothy was young, Paul loved him like a son and carefully taught him how to be a great leader and minister. Timothy didn't have flashy talents, but he was a hard worker who always asked, "Is this the way of the Lord?". The Big Message—The Cross: As they traveled to places like Galatia, they shared a very important message: God loves us infinitely, and He showed that love by sending Jesus. Paul taught that the cross is the ultimate proof of God's love and is like a bright light that brings us close to God. You can find the chapter online at https://m.egwwritings.org/en/book/127...
