Chávez the Radical XXXIII: "We are here to obey the people"

Mexican philosopher Enrique Dussel was a very important theoretical reference for Venezuela's Hugo Chávez. In this 2011 speech before national and regional leaders from the United Socialist Party (PSUV), Chávez emphasized time and again that the purpose of revolutionary politics is to obey the people. If power becomes an end in itself, he argued, the project becomes corrupted and any horizon of liberation vanishes.
