I’m studying Genesis one chapter at a time, and Genesis 3 made me think about the connection between what we hear, what we believe, and how we live. The serpent didn’t begin by handing Eve the fruit. He began with a question: “Did God really say…?” Before there was an act of disobedience, there was a challenge to God’s Word—and Eve’s perception of what God had said began to change. It reminded me of Romans 12:2: “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” What voices are shaping the way I think? What have I allowed to reshape what I believe about God? Am I allowing God’s Word have the final say?
