Jockey Jack Garritty Handed 10-Day Non-Trier Ban at Leicester | Full Race | Racing TV

Jack Garritty has been given a ten-day ban after Leicester’s stewards ruled he failed to take all reasonable and permissible measures to get the best possible placing on Red Derek. The Lisa Williamson-trained 11/2 shot was slowly away and became detached in the middle stages. He then finished strongly to take third, eight lengths behind the 16/1 winner Elora Prince. Garritty told the inquiry his instructions were to ride a positive race. After the slow start, he chose to take an early pull rather than chase a strong pace. The trainer’s representative said they were satisfied with the ride. The stewards found Red Derek clocked the fastest sectional of any runner in each of the final three furlongs, but had been left with too much ground to make up. #horseracing #Leicester #RedDerek Must-see compilations and best bits ➡️ http://y2u.be/Kfl2CXtG6xA Greatest Hits!
