Welcome to the new face of the channel! We have switched things up to allow my wife to focus on new motherhood and to bring you the content yall seem to enjoy the most on this channel. So moving forward we will be focusing on the current build and then setting up my woodshop, putting an addition on the other house and all the fun projects in between. I hope you enjoy. Thanks for watching!
We are making significant progress on the roof framing for our passive solar barn project. Choosing quality over cost is already paying off.
After deciding to stop using cheap building materials, the structural integrity of the roof has improved noticeably. In this update, we walk through the process of cutting triangular pieces and securing the rafters to the building frame. It is a labor-intensive stage, but getting the geometry right now is essential for the longevity of the structure.
This phase of rafter assembly requires precision, and you can see how we are managing the layout to ensure everything aligns perfectly with the design. We are keeping the momentum going as we move toward closing in the structure.
Subscribe for weekly updates on our build progress and let me know in the comments if you have any questions about the framing process.
