ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਗ 111–112 ਉੱਤੇ ਮਾਝ ਰਾਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੀਜੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੋ ਅਸ਼ਟਪਦੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਕਥਾ। ਚੌਥੀ ਅਸ਼ਟਪਦੀ “ਇਕੋ ਆਪਿ ਫਿਰੈ ਪਰਛੰਨਾ” ਦੱਸਦੀ ਐ ਕਿ ਇੱਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੁਕ ਕੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਐ। ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਨਾਲ ਉਹਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣ ਕੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਛੱਡਦਾ ਐ ਤੇ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਐ, ਜਦਕਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਭਰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਐ। ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਅਸ਼ਟਪਦੀ “ਸਬਦਿ ਮਰੈ ਸੁ ਮੁਆ ਜਾਪੈ” ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਜੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਦੀ ਐ। ਕਥਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੱਚੇ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਭੈ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰ, ਮਜੀਠ ਵਰਗੇ ਪੱਕੇ ਰੰਗ, ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਸਲ ਧਨਵੰਤਿਆਂ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਦ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਾਗਣ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਰਿਜ਼ਕ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਐ। ਦੋਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਾਰ ਵਾਰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਾਉਂਦੇ ਨੇ ਕਿ ਸਾਰਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਐ, ਤੇ ਨਾਮ, ਸੱਚ ਦੀ ਸੋਝੀ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਲ ਉਹਦੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਈ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਨੇ। A Punjabi Gurbani Katha on two Ashtpadis by the Third Guru, Sri Guru Amar Das Ji, in Raag Majh on Ang 111–112 of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
