St Thekla - Fr. Ephram Sermon - Aug 2, 2026

Father Ephram Alhaj reflects on Peter walking on the water and the disciples’ boat in the storm. When Peter kept his eyes on Christ, he was strengthened; when he turned his attention to the wind, he began to sink. Likewise, we are called to offer what we have to the Lord and trust in His blessing, which can overcome what our own abilities cannot. He also reflects on the Church as the boat surrounded by the waves of the world. Christ remains with His Church, but we must not bring the darkness and conflicts of the world into her.
