Resident Evil 2 (1998) | Leon S. Kennedy (B) | Full Playthrough

We did it! We survived another original Resident Evil game and another run of Resident Evil 2 (1998), this time finishing Leon B, and shocker... I love this even more than the remake. Okay, so maybe that's not the biggest shocker since yall know I have a soft spot for this era of games, but it's more to do with me being enamored by the creativity despite the technical limitations. The essence of the story and atmosphere is represented well in RE2 Remake however, these old pixelated doors will always have my heart! I truly believe they captured the heart and spirit of Resident Evil 1 while introducing Claire and Leon, the A/B scenarios, and an entirely different kind of nightmare in Raccoon City. Taking a traditionally "safe" location like the police station and making it terror-filled instantly played with my head as the player. You want to believe you're safe at every turn, but there's always something keeping you on edge, especially once Mr. X starts stomping around 😩 The layout and pace felt especially nice and don't even get me started on the location of the typewriters and item boxes! The whole game was a chef's kiss of a sequel. My favorite thing in these games is still that contrast between traditional monsters like zombies and the humans behind everything; while we might be trapped in a nightmare surrounded by monsters - human greed has the capacity to be even more terrifying. Thanks for watching yall 💛 p.s. My neighbors never said anything after the amount of times I screamed every time Mr. X made an appearance; so we're safe... for now 😅 Game captured directly from a PlayStation 1 Timestamps: 00:00 | Intro 00:45 | Resident Evil 2 (1998) Opening Cinematic Intro Video 01:48 | Resident Evil 2 (1998) Attract Mode Video 02:35 | Resident Evil 2 (1998) Leon S.
