Squier Affinity Stratocaster

An in-depth review of a Squier Affinity Stratocaster FSR in Seafoam green. Every year Fender seem to change the thickness of the Squier Affinity Stratocaster. This version as a full thickness 44mm body but I've played versions which are thinner - around 40mm. It's all down to personal taste but I prefer the full thickness Squier Affinity Stratocaster bodies, they just feel nicer to me as it's what I'm used to. The tuners on this guitar aren't too bad so you may not need to replace them. I've found with the cheaper Squier Bullet range that those tuners can feel a little rough so need upgrading. Rather than a Rosewood fretboard, this Squier Affinity Stratocaster has a Laurel fretboard. It looks a lot like Rosewood and doesn't feel bad in any way so I think it's a great choice. The neck has the standard C shaped carve and 9.5" radius that you find on a lot of Fender Stratocasters so should be familiar territory. The pickups in these Squier Affinity Stratocasters are ceramic but don't actually sound bad at all. Nicely voiced and the output isn't too low. You may not need to replace these.
