WEST AFRICA MOVES TO STRENGTHEN RESEARCH SYSTEMS AGAINST FUTURE OUTBREAKS

West Africa is stepping up efforts to prepare for future disease outbreaks, with a new regional initiative aimed at strengthening medical research, accelerating clinical trials and improving access to vaccines and diagnostic tools.The Africa Research Preparedness Programme, launched in Accra, brings together research institutions and health partners to address longstanding gaps in outbreak preparedness and ensure countries can respond more rapidly when new health threats emerge.
