Allegro moderato The third piano sonata is the most contemplative out of the three (not counting the two earlier sonatas op.5 and op.22). The last movement is connected to the first by featuring the same two main themes. Schulhoff's brisk semiquavers and influence by popular dance and folk rhythms are all there (sometimes even sounding like Bartók), but the more inward parts, especially the funeral march are not at all typical to him and rather unique in his ouevre.
