In this video, you will learn all the important formulas and equations of Tree data structure, with a visual example and a clear explanation for every formula. These equations are very important for university exams, MCQs and job interviews.
📌 Formulas covered:
• Edges in a tree = n − 1 (sum of all degrees = n − 1)
• Maximum nodes at level l = 2ˡ
• Maximum nodes in a binary tree of height h = 2^(h+1) − 1
• Maximum height of a tree with n nodes = n − 1 (skewed tree)
• Leaf nodes and 2-child nodes: n₀ = n₂ + 1
• Full binary tree: n = 2I + 1 (I = internal nodes)
• Height of a node = 1 + max(height of left, height of right), empty child = −1
• Balance Factor: BF = height(left) − height(right)
• Balanced tree condition: |BF| ≤ 1 for every node
• Array representation: parent(i) = ⌊(i − 1) / 2⌋
