Today, on the PlayStation Plus Catalogue, I'm back in the Hot Shots world to play the last Sony-exclusive game in the series, as I take a look at Everybody's Golf (2017) for the PlayStation 4. This will mark the third game in the Hot Shots/Everybody's Golf series, and, as I said, this is also the last game that Sony and PlayStation published themselves, before putting the series on the shelf for almost a decade and then handing the series (along with Patapon) to Bandai Namco in 2025. The hook of this game was two-fold: 1) It was an open world sort of game. You can go on every course online and just walk around or drive in a golf cart (after a certain point), like a real golf course. I didn't realize until after recording, but you can still walk around offline, if you back out of taking a tee shot. And 2) Character progression is done on a per-shot basis, every "nice shot" that lands on either the fairway or the green increases your club, and therefore, your character. So, does Everybody's Golf still hold up after almost a decade? Let's find out.
