Ananthazhwan was the sishyar of Swami Ramanujar. A person residing in a village named valatthan mangalam wanted to become his sishyar. Ananthazhwan said that he would lose his wealth upon hearing the upadeshams, to which the sishyar readily accepted. He lost his wealth but attained Bhagavan.
