Argentina 7-0 Burkina Faso | International Friendly Match 2026 | All Goals & Highlights

Argentina defeated Burkina Faso 7-0 in an international friendly at the Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires. The match was heavily impacted by major logistical issues for Burkina Faso. Their original charter flight from Morocco was canceled, leaving the squad stranded in Casablanca. Some senior players refused to make the journey over organization and financial disputes, forcing Burkina Faso to field a heavily depleted squad consisting mostly of U-23 players. They arrived in Buenos Aires just five hours before kickoff. Lionel Messi did not feature in the match, as he is scheduled to make his final international retirement appearance on Tuesday, October 6 against Benin. Argentina dominated from the opening minutes, registering 28 shots with 16 on target, compared to just 3 shots from Burkina Faso.
