Miroslav Šik “Old and New” – Lviv Urban Forum 2025

Watch the lecture by Miroslav Šik, “Old and New,” held as part of Lviv Urban Forum 2025: Building Continuity (June 11–13, Lviv, Ukraine). Miroslav Šik is a Swiss architect born in Czech Republic. At the age of 15, he fled his homeland following the Soviet invasion and moved to Switzerland, where he studied at the renowned architecture school in Zurich and was mentored by the legendary Aldo Rossi. His experience of losing a home and exploring a new culture deeply shaped his architectural philosophy. Šik’s work doesn’t aim to impress with scale or extravagance, it creates spaces that become homes for families, communities, and society.
