Septic System Installation for a Group Home | Larger Volume for High Water Use

This septic system install was for a group home with much higher water usage than a typical residence, so the system needed significantly more volume. We used two 1,000-gallon septic tanks instead of one larger tank — running water through two tanks creates four separate settling compartments, giving everything more time to fully settle before it overflows into the leaching field. We also used a commercial effluent filter on the outlet. For the leaching field itself, we used two rows of 4x8 galleys, which provided the extra volume capacity needed to handle the higher water flow.
