In this video, we take a look at the 1973 Triumph GT6 Mk3, the final and most refined version of Triumph’s fastback sports coupé, and one of the most coveted of the range. Now finished in a striking yellow, this GT6 shows exactly why it’s such a beloved part of British motoring history.
With its sleek fastback body, front-engine and rear-wheel-drive layout, the GT6 had the perfect sports car recipe. Born from the idea of merging the Triumph Spitfire and Herald sports cars, it offered something new, and arguably better, with its smooth 2.0-litre inline-six engine and classic rear-drive balance.
On the road, it delivers a truly wonderful driving experience, with plenty of character, great handling, and that unmistakable straight-six soundtrack. Often described as a “baby E-Type,” the GT6 remains sought-after yet still offers incredible value for enthusiasts looking for something stylish, usable, and full of charm.
Join us as we take a walk around this beautiful Mk3 and head out on the road to see why it’s still such a joy to drive 50 years on.
