Chasing the Dream - Alexia Putellas | True Story Documentary Channel

This is a documentary from the TV3 Sports department that tells the story of Alexia Putellas, a girl who started playing football in the schoolyard of Mollet del Vallès and who, after a hard-working career, has ended up winning the treble with Barça. In addition, Alexia has been the first Catalan player in history to be considered the best footballer in the world and to receive the Ballon d'Or dedicated, in an emotional speech, to the figure of her father, who died nine years ago. But Alexia Putellas' successes cannot hide the parallel reality that women live in the world of football in the 21st century. In the documentary, the Barça captain discovers her most demanding side, affiliated with the new FUTPRO union - formed exclusively by female footballers - to fight against sexism and gender inequality that still persists in the world of football. In "Chasing a Dream", there are also female club presidents who are the exception to the rule, female coaches who claim a space in a world full of men, players who have had to retire due to injury without receiving any disability pension and female footballers who have had to stop playing due to pressure from their own clubs. "Chasing a Dream" is a success story but it is also a portrait of a world, still today, that is excessively masculinized.
