Beethoven Violin Concerto - Oistrakh, USSR State Symphony, Rozhdestvensky

Not as well known nor as easily accessible as some of his other recordings of the Beethoven concerto, this live performance with USSR State Symphony (on Christmas Day in 1962) led by Rozhdestvensky is a valuable addition to both the Oistrakh and Beethoven violin concerto discography. Although a live recording, the sound is clear with the violin, as usual with Oistrakh, balanced fairly forward.
