Dorfabend im Schützenhaus Weißensee - on October 3, 2009, I accompanied a group of American tourists to an evening of music, dance and jolly joking in a Bavarian community center. It looked like half the village ended up on the stage that evening - really surprising to see how many of the young folks are keeping up the old traditions. Of course there was beer drinking involved, too, but nothing like at the Oktoberfest!
