Since Sunday, one video of Cindy Crawford and her son has been making the rounds again. You have almost certainly seen it. It lasts just thirty seconds, first aired around the Super Bowl eight years ago, and this week, several outlets have been showing it again, each using slightly different words to say the same thing. *It hits differently now. And it really does.* But I don't think most of the people sharing it have actually watched it closely. I did... frame by frame. And there is something hidden in those thirty seconds that almost nobody seems to have noticed — something about where he is, where she is, and one small word the narrator uses to connect them. Then, in the days after the ad aired, another camera captured the two of them standing side by side, and a reporter asked him about his mother. When the follow-up question came, he answered in just four words. He was smiling when he said them. She was looking directly at him.
