Small Town USA - Van, TX

Why are so many people moving out of the big cities and going to smaller towns? Texas has seen an explosion of people leaving other states and moving here. Is it politics? Is it that people are just tired of large cities with too many people? We are currently staying in East Texas for the Winter in our motorhome. We recently visited the small town of Van in East Texas. I now have a better understanding why there is a mass exodus from the large cities. Driving through Van is calming. Time seems to move at a slower pace and there was no traffic to fight. People seem happier here, content to be themselves instead of trying to compete with the Jones' next door. I think it may be a better way of life...
