While the Janssen strain is most commonly associated with "blue" or "blue-check" (such as the Merckx line) pigeons, this "Vos line" (the "chestnut" Janssens) enjoys a fervent following abroad, particularly in Germany and Taiwan. The reason for this is their almost monstrous resilience: they possess an extraordinary toughness that allows them to return home even in the worst weather or the most grueling, challenging race conditions. Historical Achievements of the Janssen Bloodline Within the world-renowned Belgian Janssen loft, there existed a legendary chestnut-colored cock bird known as "Vondervoske" (the "chestnut monster").
