折り紙【六角箱（ぼたん）】の作り方　音声解説あり　こんなに簡単！／ORIGAMI　【Hexagonal Box】 with subtitles

It is a cute box with a peony flower blooming in the center. Cut a single piece of origami paper in half and use each half to make the lid and the body of the box. The height and width of the box can be changed by changing the length-to-width ratio of the rectangular piece of paper. Here, I'm particular about making it from a single piece of origami paper, so I've used a length-to-width ratio of 1:2. I adjusted the width of the lid's adhesive tab so that it closes properly. The difficult part is twisting and tilting the hexagonal tube to create a flat hexagon. The trick is to keep the apex of the hexagonal tube on the outside and bring it closer to the center like a drawstring bag, then tilt it over rather than twisting it forcefully, expanding the hexagon spreading out from the center. Note that the twisting directions for the lid and the body of the box are opposite. The lid will be particularly difficult. The lid's hexagonal shape is slightly missing due to the shortened glue tab and the inward folding of the corner of the paper closest to the overlapping piece. Be careful not to separate the paper as you fold. The lid will be folded into a flat hexagon while floating above the table surface, so ultimately, you should be able to unfold it by pulling out the hexagonal shape that extends from the center. When folding the lid's ornaments, be careful not to push the shortened glue tab edge downwards. If the edge is pushed downwards, the back of the origami paper will be exposed when the twisted flower transforms into a peony. Small paper may be difficult to use at first, so it's a good idea to practice using paper cut from a larger sheet of paper in a 1:2 ratio. Please turn on subtitles when watching.
