The Arran Ferries 2024

With the Calmac network once again being thrown into disarray this time thanks to metal work problems with the MV Caledonian Isles putting her out of service long term the service to Arran is down a bit part of its capacity. In place of the Caley Isles is the MV Isle of Arran a vessel that would usually be seen in support of the larger vessel however operating alongside the MV Isle of Arran is the MV Alfred, who herself is no stranger to the Arran service having served the island last summer when the MV Hebridean Isles was out of action leaving the MV Isle of Arran covering Islay. However this season problems and the subsequent closure of the Irish berth in Ardrossan has meant that Alfred can no longer operate out of Ardrossan meaning some of the Arran services have been diverted to Troon. So today we head out to see how it all operates as we depart Ardrossan on the MV Isle of Arran before returning to the mainland on board the MV Alfred to Troon. Hope you enjoy the video!
