🎬 کارگردان: علی اصفا 🎥 فیلمبردار: امین آثم 🎼 تک نوازی سه تار: امیرحسین حقدوست ----------------------------------------- Nowruz, Qazvin, and the Authenticity Kept Alive Through Sweets... 🌿✨ Nowruz (Persian New Year, celebrated at the spring equinox), a celebration rooted in Iran’s culture and history, is not just a change of seasons but an opportunity for gathering, festivity, and honoring traditions. In this documentary, we travel to Qazvin—a city that, from past to present, has played a significant role in Nowruz rituals. 🔹 The old Darb-e Kushk Gate, one of the historical symbols of this city, marks the starting point of our journey. From there, we head to a small yet fragrant and vibrant workshop, where the skilled women of Qazvin keep the age-old tradition of making Nowruz sweets alive. 🔸 In this documentary, join me, Shahrzad Shokouhivand, as we step into the heart of this workshop—a place where authentic sweets are crafted with the finest local ingredients. From Clarified Butter to Alamut rice, Qazvin’s unique pistachios, and Khorasan saffron, each ingredient tells its own story. • Qazvin’s rice cookies, known in this region as “the bride of the Nowruz table,” are made with the same traditional recipe and authentic flavor preserved across generations. • Pistachio sablés, a sweet transformed into a lasting masterpiece by the artistry of Qazvin’s women. • Coconut sweets, which, though not originally Iranian, have been turned into a purely Iranian delight through the skilled hands of capable women. • Chickpea cookies, a symbol of Nowruz deeply tied to Iranian traditions. 👩‍🍳 Alongside these women, shoulder to shoulder, I immersed myself in the process of making these sweets. I shared my personal experiences with home baking, explaining why I insist on producing these sweets in their birthplace with local ingredients—despite the higher production costs—and the importance of this collaboration in supporting women and home-based businesses. 📍 This documentary is not just about Nowruz sweets; it’s about tradition, identity, and the women who, with their art and hands, keep Iran’s culinary culture alive. 📺 Don’t miss watching this documentary and join us on a journey to the heart of Nowruz and Qazvin’s traditions. 🎬 Director: Ali Asfa 🎥 Cinematographer: Amin Asem 🎼 Solo Setar Performance: Amirhossein Haghdoost
