Defrosting CO2 Systems Using Reverse Hot Gas Defrost Method with LT Booster Side Heat

We have the pleasure to have returning CO2 expert Phillip Walker from Arneg Canada joining us again. https://arneg.ca/en Phillip will be diving into how hot gas defrost works when using the subcritical side heat to defrost systems.  Topics we discuss: We quickly review the previous episode on flash tank stability - LT Booster Compressor Hot Gas Design -Why mass flow is critical for Subcritical Defrost -How you get more mass out to your evaporators -What the differential Arneg uses across the hot gas valve -Why the placement of the HGV is so important -Limiting the size of system lineups is critical with subcritical hot gas defrost systems -What type of pressure drop on a circuit can see -The reason they opening the EEVs during defrost -Why Expansion loops are so important -How dump solenoids on suction side work -Length of defrosts and drip time -How Hot Gas can be an efficiency gain on your system -Issues you can see with hot gas systems -Why high mass Arneg systems will have 2 flash tanks -The step that follow when going into defrost.
