The Lost Trail (Official Music Video) | The Gliders

The Lost Trail — The Gliders | Basil Tunes “The Lost Trail” is a deeply sorrowful song dedicated to the Native peoples of what is now the United States and to the generations who endured the devastating consequences of European colonization and the expansion of white settlement across their ancestral lands. The song gives voice to a story of displacement, loss, broken communities, and grief—the pain of people watching their traditional lands, cultures, and ways of life being taken or profoundly disrupted. The “lost trail” becomes a symbol of a path that was once familiar, but was forever changed by invasion, conflict, forced removal, and the pressures of a rapidly expanding new society. Through its mournful atmosphere and emotional storytelling, The Gliders seek to express the sorrow of those who suffered while also remembering their courage and resilience. The song is not simply about history; it is a musical remembrance of people whose voices, traditions, and memories continue to survive. “The Lost Trail” is offered with respect to Native peoples and their descendants—a song of grief, remembrance, and the enduring strength of a heritage that could not be erased.
