We Changed All Our Travel Plans in Bavaria For This!!

We only had 26 hours in Germany 🇩🇪 before heading to Austria. After almost a year of planning, we changed all our plans less than one week before our arrival to see something that only comes along once a year! What could it be though?! Without giving away the farm, I’ll just say it was a very special homecoming celebration!! Before heading to the charming town of Mittenwald, we made another impromptu visit to the Treetop Walk where we were able to cross the border from Germany 🇩🇪 to Austria 🇦🇹 on foot while suspended 60 feet in the air!! After a longer than expected drive on windy roads through Austria and back into Germany, we thought we missed the celebration. Luckily, it wasn’t over yet and it ended being Laura’s favorite experience on the entire trip! We also visited the festival grounds and explored the historic town center where we were treated to a surprise continuation of the celebration! It turned out to be a day full of traditional cultural experiences that we could not have planned more perfectly!
