Pendleton is an awesome city on the Oregon trail (and I-84) named after George Pendleton (then senator of Ohio)
This nifty gem is a western town with western pioneer history there are tunnels under the city which were additional business like opium dens, brothels, and legitimate bars.
We didn't go in the tunnels as it cost a lot of money and was closed when we arrived, So we did the charm trail (set up by the towns chamber of commerce)
Which didn't disappoint, It was an awesome experience I was more towns and cities had and was a fun souvenir when it was said and done.
Pendleton is a city in and the county seat[6] of Umatilla County, Oregon, United States. The population was 17,107 at the time of the 2020 census, which includes approximately 1,600 people who are incarcerated at Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution.
Pendleton is the smaller of the two principal cities of the Hermiston–Pendleton Micropolitan Statistical Area. This micropolitan area covers Morrow and Umatilla counties and had a combined population of 92,261 at the 2020 census.
The Oregon Trail was a 2,170-mile (3,490 km) east–west, large-wheeled wagon route and emigrant trail in North America that connected the Missouri River to valleys in Oregon Territory. The eastern part of the Oregon Trail crossed what is now the states of Kansas, Nebraska, and Wyoming. The western half crossed the current states of Idaho and Oregon.
