Cleo Rowe was a prominent and beloved on-air personality who left a lasting mark on the golden era of New York City radio throughout the 1980s and 1990s. With a smooth, inviting delivery, she became a staple of the city's R&B, dance, and pop airwaves. Rowe is perhaps best remembered for her deep ties to WBLS. In the early 1980s, she helped define the station's quintessential New York sound. She also hosted late-night slots and mix shows for the station into the 1990s, including Night Jam's and In The Mix, keeping the city's dance and R&B energy alive during the overnight hours. Sadly, Rowe passed away in April 2010 after suffering an aneurysm.
