Another one that I've been wanting to do for a while, though not as long as Empty Tome.
This one, I needed to transcribe myself, with LoI not having handy-dandy game MIDIs to reference. Luckily, it wasn't very hard - with the big exception being the fast runs on the synth and harp, which took the vast majority of the time
When it came to arranging, I first puzzled what to do with the pitch bend synth in the intro. I tried a bunch of things, ultimately setting on layering string slides over straight notes. Similarly, the warbly synth of the mid-intro went through a couple of iterations of instrumentation, with me having the idea to use a wah-wah bass actually pretty late in production.
Once it came time to add the guitars, I tried a couple of rhythms to see what worked, but settled on what you hear here pretty quickly. Just as quickly. Just as quickly came the idea to add the heavily downtuned riff in the climax, where I felt it was rather empty in the original.
Time spent working on the track: 33 hours.
