Keswick in Cinematic Drone Beauty | Borrowdale Hotel History & Hartside Pass

Step back in time and then soar into the cinematic beauty of the Lake District. This video begins at the historic Borrowdale Hotel, filmed on my Nikon Zfc and styled to look like vintage Super 8 film. The Borrowdale Hotel has welcomed guests since 1866, originally serving as one of the first coaching inns in the Borrowdale Valley. Its early adverts proudly offered “hot, cold and shower baths” and even Omnibus collection from Keswick Station. Over the decades it has passed through several families, hosted nobility, survived fires, and still retains original features like the old reception bells. From there, we jump to a quick blast over the legendary Hartside Pass with the DJI Mini 3 Pro. Hartside is one of the most iconic upland routes in Northern England, climbing to over 1,900 ft and offering sweeping views across the Pennines toward the Lake District. The film then shifts into my usual crisp, cinematic drone style as I fly the Mini 3 Pro over Keswick, capturing the town, surrounding fells, and the lake (Derwentwater) in the background. The peaks surrounding Keswick — including Catbells, Skiddaw, Walla Crag and more — create one of the most dramatic natural amphitheatres in the Lakes. A blend of nostalgia, history, and modern aerial cinematography — all wrapped together with music and storytelling.
