Most people attending a USCIS interview don’t have to worry about being detained—but in some cases, it can happen! Here’s what you need to know: 🔹 I-130 Interview? Very low risk—even for undocumented applicants. Detention was more common under Obama’s administration for those with old removal orders & criminal records. 🔹 N-400 (Naturalization) Interview? Extremely rare, but possible—especially if you have an aggravated felony ⚠️ (which may not be a felony under federal law, but is the highest form of felony under immigration law). This makes you deportable & ineligible for citizenship. 🔹 Adjustment of Status Interview? If you have no criminal history & no removal order, you generally shouldn’t worry. ⚠️ Bottom Line: While detentions at USCIS interviews are rare, they CAN happen in specific cases. Always know your status & your risks! 💡 Need help? Consult an immigration attorney before your interview! 👍 Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more insights into U.S. immigration laws!
