Aumovio, the automotive technology company spun off from Continental in 2025, is developing a single-camera ADAS system aimed at making advanced driver assistance affordable for India's mass-market and smaller-segment cars. In this interview, Prashanth Doreswamy, Aumovio's India head, explains how the "1V" camera platform works, what safety features it enables, including lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, emergency brake assist and adaptive cruise control, and why it could be key to meeting India's upcoming Bharat NCAP 2.0 crash-rating norms, which are set to weigh accident-avoidance technology heavily in 5-star ratings from 2027. We also discuss Aumovio's locally developed automated park assist system already fitted on the Tata Harrier, the company's India strategy, software-defined vehicles, and why autonomous driving remains a long way off for Indian roads. 00:20 – Aumovio's four business verticals 02:40 – India strategy and exports 05:47 – Single-camera ADAS explained 07:11 – Automated park assist on Tata Harrier 09:19 – Software-defined vehicles 11:52 – Connected car subscription trends 19:15 – Why autonomous driving is far off for India 20:13 – ADAS and EVs: are they linked? 28:36 – Key industry challenges ahead #Aumovio #ADAS #BharatNCAP #AutomotiveSafety #AutocarIndia
