This African Balafon composition is rooted in the pentatonic tradition of West African music and explores the development and realization of being present in the here and now. The Balafon, a traditional African xylophone, has long been used in ceremonial, social and reflective contexts. In this piece, its pentatonic sound language unfolds slowly, inviting deep listening and inner awareness. This music is not about following predefined paths or fulfilling expectations. It is about meeting the true inner self, questioning inherited belief systems and allowing one’s own authentic way to emerge. The rhythm builds gradually, carrying the listener gently inward. You may listen, move, dance or dream — there is nothing you need to do. Just allow the sound to unfold and be present in the moment.
