The Siege of Uthman ibn Affan (RA): A Leader's Final Test

Uthman ibn Affan (RA) was one of the closest companions of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and the third Caliph of Islam. But his story is about far more than a position of leadership. He was a wealthy merchant who became known for generosity, a companion remembered for remarkable modesty, and a leader whose caliphate became closely connected with the standardization and distribution of written copies of the Qur'an. In this documentary, we follow the life of Uthman ibn Affan (RA) — from his early life in Makkah and acceptance of Islam, to his marriages to Ruqayyah and Umm Kulthum (RA), his generosity, his appointment as the third Caliph, and the major Qur'an standardization effort carried out during his rule. We also explore the difficult final years of his caliphate, the political unrest surrounding Madinah, the siege of his home, and his martyrdom. This is a story of faith, modesty, generosity, leadership, responsibility, and sacrifice. 📖 SOURCES & AUTHENTICITY This documentary prioritizes the Qur'an and reliable hadith sources.
