I Had a Nigerian Identity Crisis: Who Do I Belong To?

For a long time, I struggled with my sense of belonging as a Nigerian. Recently, I realised that what I was experiencing was, in some ways, a Nigerian identity crisis. In this video, I talk about identity, minority tribes, the stereotypes we create about Northern and Southern Nigerians, and why I think we need to become better students of our own history and society. So, especially as we mark another Nigerian Independence Day, I want to ask: What does it actually mean to be Nigerian? And can we build a Nigerian identity that is bigger than the divisions and stereotypes we have inherited? I believe we can.
