The summer season offers long daylight hours and access to many of the park's roads, trails, and attractions. However, July is also a very busy time, particularly around Yosemite Valley. Expect traffic, crowded parking areas, and longer travel times during the middle of the day. 🌅 Early Morning — Recommended For the most relaxing scenic drive, start early in the morning. Early morning can provide: Lighter traffic Cooler temperatures Softer mountain light Better photography conditions A quieter experience Increased opportunities to enjoy popular viewpoints before they become crowded 🌄 Late Afternoon & Evening Late afternoon can provide beautiful warm light across Yosemite's granite formations and surrounding mountains. It can also be a pleasant time to explore as some visitors begin leaving the park. 🌸 Late Spring — May to June Late spring can be an excellent time to visit if you want strong waterfall flows and beautiful green scenery. Conditions vary from year to year depending on snowpack and weather. 🍂 September–October Early fall can offer cooler temperatures and potentially fewer visitors than the peak summer months. Fall colors and changing conditions at higher elevations can create a different Yosemite experience. Important: Yosemite road conditions, access, reservations, and traffic-management requirements can change.
